On February 12, 1993 the defendant-appellant, Willie Dixon, was charged with one count of attempted armed robbery, a violation of La.R.S. 14:27(64). He was arraigned and entered a not guilty plea on April 23, 1993. A lunacy hearing was conducted on July 20, 1993 at which time the defendant was adjudged competent to proceed.
