In 1995, John Plantan pled guilty to one count of federal excise tax evasion in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 7201 pursuant to a plea agreement with the government. At sentencing, the court imposed a 24 month sentence, to be served consecutively to the sentence Plantan already was serving for a 1992 offense.
