In these consolidated cases, Michael E. Walls filed suit for damages for false and malicious prosecution against the State of Louisiana, through the Attorney General; Rick Bryant, in his capacity as district attorney for the Parish of Calcasieu; and Wayne McElveen, in his capacity as sheriff for the Parish of Calcasieu. Mr. Walls subsequently moved to dismiss his claim against the state. Mr. Bryant filed a peremptory exception of no cause of action...
