WALKER, Chief Justice.

Appellant was convicted by a jury for having committed the felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Appellant's indictment contained six enhancement paragraphs raising appellant's punishment status to that of a habitual offender. Appellant elected to have the trial court assess punishment. Following appellant's plea of "true" to five of the enhancement allegations, the trial court sentenced appellant to confinement...
