HARDBERGER, Justice.

This case involves a gold scam. At the heart of the scam is a shadowy figure named Otis B. Phillips. Phillips, an ex-convict, masterminded this scheme and operated it with the assistance of an Indiana lawyer named Dollie Stafford Manns.
