Defendant was indicted in August 1992 and charged with various counts of rape, sexual abuse and incest. The crimes were allegedly committed sometime in the summer of 1987 when, after a family gathering, the three victims, A, B and C (then ages, seven, nine, and 10, respectively) stayed overnight at defendant's residence in the Town of Governeur, St. Lawrence County.
