Following a jury trial in the circuit court of McLean County, defendant Cullen Carter was convicted of one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault (720 ILCS 5/12-14(b)(1) (West 1992)) and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse (720 ILCS 5/12-16(b) (West 1992)).
