HOWARD, Judge:

In this negligence action arising out of a car accident, Ernestine P. Reid admitted liability, and the case proceeded to trial on the issue of damages only. The jury awarded the plaintiff, Elizabeth Patterson, actual damages of $500.54. The trial judge granted a new trial nisi additur and awarded damages of $7,639.40.
