The plaintiff, Angela Proctor, was injured in a motor vehicle accident. After the driver's insurance company paid Proctor $40,000, she brought suit to collect $25,000 from Minnesota Mutual Fire & Casualty (Minnesota Mutual), which insured Proctor's father.
