On the evening of July 15, 1993, sometime after 9:00 p.m., John Walker went to pick up his wife Jackie at her parents' home. Walker and Jackie argued in the house. Jackie went outside and Walker followed. He requested to speak with her in the garage. Jackie agreed, went into the garage and sat on an old coffee table. Walker stood in front of her.
