The appellant, Leon Smart Matthews, was convicted of robbery in the first degree, a violation of § 13A-8-41, Code of Alabama 1975, and of burglary in the first degree, a violation of § 13A-7-5. He was sentenced as an habitual offender to life imprisonment without parole on each conviction, those sentences to be served concurrently.
