This is an appeal by the defendant Publix Super Markets, Inc. from a final judgment entered upon an adverse jury verdict in a premises liability action for negligent failure to protect against a criminal assault by a third party. The defendant contends that the trial court erred in denying its motion for directed verdict at trial based on our controlling decision in Federated Department Stores, Inc. v. Doe, 454 So.2d 10
