The complainant testified that at approximately 9:15 P.M. on September 6, 1993, she was standing with a friend underneath the elevated subway platform of the No. 4 train at 176th Street and Jerome Avenue. She and her friend were attempting to hail a cab. After a passing city bus almost hit them, they were forced back on the sidewalk and heard laughter.
