Indicted for the first-degree murder of Johnnie Wayne Medlin (victim) in violation of N.C.G.S. § 14-17, defendant was tried noncapitally and found guilty as charged on the theory of premeditation and deliberation. The trial court sentenced defendant to life imprisonment.
