Although defendant does not contest the trial court's ruling that the prosecutor established a prima facie case of discrimination in the exercise of defense challenges, he contends that he then met his burden of coming forward with legitimate, racially neutral explanations for those challenges (Georgia v McCollum, 505 U.S. 42; Batson v Kentucky, 476 U.S. 79
