Appellant, Salvador Carlos Santiago, was tried for the first time before a jury in November 1985. Appellant was charged with one count each of criminal homicide, robbery, and violation of the Uniform Firearms Act.1 At trial, Appellant presented an insanity defense, but ultimately was found guilty of all charges.
