Amy Bauer, a former member of the University of Wisconsin-Madison women's basketball team, sued the team's coach, Mary Murphy, for, among other things, defamation and interference with a contract. The trial court granted Murphy's motions for summary judgment dismissing both claims and Bauer appeals.
