On May 1, 1989, appellant Sylvester McCrory was crossing State Route 940 in Paradise Township, Monroe County when he was struck by an automobile. Appellee Jack W. Abraham, Jr., owner and operator of the automobile, asserted that he did not see anything in the roadway as he approached. Two other pedestrians were also struck by Abraham's vehicle, one of whom died from his injuries. McCrory was treated by emergency personnel at the scene and later taken...
