This appeal marks the third time this case has been before this Court for sentencing review. The defendant, Perrie Dyon Simpson, confessed to the 27 August 1984 murder and robbery of Jean E. Darter, a ninety-two-year-old retired Baptist minister. On 4 March 1985, defendant entered pleas of guilty to the first-degree murder of Reverend Darter, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit murder.
