Michael Thomas appeals his 57-month sentence for illegal reentry into the United States by an alien, 8 U.S.C. § 1326(b)(2). According to reports submitted by the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), Thomas initially entered the United States in 1980. Thomas was convicted in 1988 for sale of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm and was sentenced to a term of incarceration. After his release from prison, he was deported to Jamaica...
