Plaintiff Galina Iassinski alleges that on September 6, 1992, she injured her right ankle when she slipped and fell on a staircase in defendants' home located in the Town of Great Neck, Nassau County. Plaintiffs thereafter commenced the instant action by the service of a summons and complaint on or about November 9, 1992, electing New York County as the proper venue on the basis of their alleged residence there at the time of commencement of the action.
