On 18 March 1994, a Kanawha County, West Virginia, jury convicted the appellant, Gerald D. Mullins, of the crime of principal in the second degree to the first degree murder of James Arnold Pierson. The jury did not recommend mercy, and on 22 April 1994, the circuit court sentenced the appellant to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He now appeals from the final order...
