Francis Rogowski was seriously injured when he fell asleep at the wheel of his 1987 Mazda pickup truck and collided head-on with a large tree while traveling at a speed of 30 to 40 miles per hour. He sued Mazda Motor of America, Inc. and Mazda Motor Company (hereinafter collectively "Mazda" or "the defendant"),1 claiming that the seat belt restraint system in the Mazda was defective and unreasonably dangerous...
