This case involves a tangle of jurisdictional issues. Back in 1986 the plaintiffs hired Budget Construction Company to do some electrical work on property that they owned. To pay for the work, they gave Budget a first mortgage of $25,000, which Budget assigned to Union Mortgage Company. Later they borrowed some money from Union Mortgage, giving it a second mortgage on the property. In 1993, they sued Budget...
