This decision affirms the judgment convicting Keith Sims of second degree assault for breaking the jaw of Anita Bellinger. Sims denied the assault and suggested the broken jaw resulted from a fall. Bellinger, who had once lived with Sims, did not testify. The conviction rests on Bellinger's hearsay statements attributing the broken jaw to Sims' assault.
