Over the course of three years, beginning in early 1987, Knapp Shoes, Inc. ("Knapp") purchased nearly 300,000 pairs of shoes from Sylvania Shoe Manufacturing Corp. ("Sylvania"). The relationship between the two companies underwent strains during its final year, and broke off early in 1990.
