The defendant, Charles R. Crowell, was tried before a jury and convicted on all 23 counts of a superseding indictment related to a fraudulent investment scheme that spanned more than 5 years and affected more than 160 victims. Crowell appeals the district court's rejection of two negotiated plea agreements and the sentence the district court imposed.
