The District of Columbia, as landlord for subsidized public housing, brought an action against one of its tenants, appellee Latisha Reid, for possession of her dwelling unit at 2220 Bryan Place, S.E. The basis for this action was nonpayment of rent under the lease for the Bryan Place unit, coupled with rent arrearages under an earlier lease for public housing at 755 Yuma Street, S.E. where Reid previously resided.
