In the case before us today, a defendant who had previously prevailed in a federal employment discrimination action under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 successfully argued to the circuit judge that its victory on the federal claim was res judicata as to the plaintiff's employment discrimination claim under the Florida Human Rights Act of 1977 arising from the same facts.
