Appellant, Derrick Kmoure Hullaby, was convicted by a jury of two offenses of attempted murder arising out of a drive-by shooting in the Stop Six area of Fort Worth, Texas. See TEX.PENAL CODE ANN. §§ 15.01, 19.02 (Vernon 1994). The jury assessed his punishment at confinement for 18 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
