McLAUGHLIN, Circuit Judge:

After he was stopped for a traffic infraction, defendant gave the police officers consent to search his car. They opened two bags located in the passenger compartment of the car and discovered illegal gun parts and marijuana. Defendant moved to suppress this evidence. The United States District Court for the Western District of New York (Larimer, J.), relying on Florida v. Jimeno, 500 U.S. 248
