The editor of DIE CASTING ENGINEER, a trade journal, asked John Kopp, the president of Amcast, to submit for publication an article on manufacturing beryllium-copper plunger tips ("BeCu tips"). Mr. Kopp submitted an article which the trade journal, after removing the more blatantly self-serving statements about Amcast products, published. Alleged misrepresentations of his own product by the president of Amcast created the underlying controversy...
