Steven Paul Priest was convicted of first degree murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. On appeal, Priest contends the district court erred in denying Priest's pretrial motion for substitute counsel and his motion for a new trial, in instructing the jury, and in sentencing. Priest also argues that there was misconduct by the prosecutor in the State's opening statement...
