OPINION

WILSON, Justice.

Appellant, Raul Lugo, appeals from a jury conviction for kidnapping. The trial court assessed punishment at five years confinement. Appellant argues, in three points of error, that the trial court erred by (1) refusing to instruct the jury on the defense of mistake of fact; (2) improperly including a definition of the term "parent" in the charge; and (3) including a partial instruction on the defense of mistake of law.
