The defendant, Kevin Gaiter, appeals from his convictions and sentences. We affirm in part and reverse in part.

The defendant shot and killed his former girlfriend, and shot and seriously wounded her sister. The defendant was charged by indictment with first degree murder (Count I) and attempted second degree murder (Count II). After trial by jury, the defendant was found guilty as charged and sentenced...
