This is an appeal from a jury verdict finding that Dr. James Lipstate did not commit malpractice in his treatment of Mrs. Janell McCoy.

In late 1984, Mrs. McCoy was diagnosed as having rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is disease of the joint. The synovium or lining of the joint becomes inflamed and can eat into the bone. The inflammation produces an excess of fluid. The fluid so produced is abnormal in that it does not have lubricating...
