Respondent, a police officer, was charged with two controlled substance offenses and other offenses after the police searched his apartment and discovered cocaine. After a Rasmussen hearing, the trial court suppressed certain evidence, concluding that the search of respondent's apartment was a warrantless entry and that no exigent circumstances existed.
