The defendant appeals his conviction for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

On October 15, 1993, Officer Patrick Van Dyke of the Alexandria City Police Department was off duty. While driving in the southern part of Alexandria, Officer Van Dyke stopped at a red light.
