Respondent Dang Van Le (Le) was sued in a tort action brought after his vehicle struck respondent Huong Thi Nyugen (Nyugen). Le tendered defense of the suit to his insurer, appellant American Standard Insurance Company, and the company appointed an attorney to represent Le in the tort action, subject to a reservation of rights.
