Plaintiff-appellant Donna L. Maguire (Donna) was assaulted while cleaning the men's restroom at the Hilton Hawaiian Village (the Hilton or the hotel) in Honolulu. Donna was an employee of Hawai`i Care & Cleaning (HCC), which had entered into an agreement with the hotel to provide cleaning services at the Hilton.
