This is an appeal from a final order of civil forfeiture1 of $39,780 in U.S. currency in favor of petitioner, Ron Cochran, Sheriff of Broward County, Florida. While we find that the trial court erred in entering a default based upon an invocation by Sheila Daniels (claimant) of her right to remain silent in response to petitioner's discovery requests, we reverse the order on grounds that the currency was illegally seized...
