John Whitted crashed his 1987 Chevrolet Nova into two trees on January 12, 1993. Whitted sued the manufacturer and seller, New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc., and General Motors Corporation (collectively "Defendants"), in an Indiana state court to recover for his injuries.
