In March 1992, defendant, Zettie Jones, pleaded guilty to attempt (first degree murder) (Ill.Rev.Stat.1991, ch. 38, pars. 8-4, 9-1(a)), armed robbery (Ill.Rev.Stat.1991, ch. 38, par. 18-2(a)), and aggravated battery with a firearm (Ill.Rev.Stat.1991, ch. 38, par. 12-4.2).
