In this appeal we review application of the doctrine of complicity, a judicially created affirmative defense to actions filed pursuant to section 6-21 of the Liquor Control Act of 1934 (the Dramshop Act) (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 43, par. 135 (now codified at 235 ILCS 5/6-21 (West 1992))).
