Nicole Bustamante and Chris DuBois filed separate appeals from their juvenile court convictions. A commissioner referred both appeals to a panel of judges for accelerated review pursuant to RAP 18.12. In each case, the State failed to present sufficient independent evidence to make a prima facie showing of the corpus delicti.
