The State of Texas appeals a directed verdict in a condemnation proceeding where the sole contested issue was the value of the property taken. The State brings two issues on appeal: (1) the trial court erred in preventing its witnesses from testifying about the market value of the land taken and the market value of the remainder; and (2) the trial court erred in denying the State's motion for continuance.
