TERRY, Associate Judge:

Appellant was convicted of distributing heroin, in violation of D.C.Code § 33-541(a)(1) (1993). He seeks a new trial on the ground that threats from his co-defendant— threats that were never mentioned to the trial court until after the jury had returned a guilty verdict against appellant and his codefendant—deprived him of his right to testify and his right to a fair trial. We hold that the trial court abused its discretion...
