CORNELIUS, Chief Justice.

Marcus Eugene Dixon was tried and convicted of aggravated sexual assault. The trial court granted his motion for a new trial. The State appeals. We affirm.

Dixon was indicted for aggravated sexual assault of his thirteen-year-old stepdaughter. He was tried March 1-2, 1994, before a jury in the District Court of Lamar County. He was convicted and assessed punishment at ninety-nine years in prison and a fine of $10...
