Snead sued Snap-On Tools Corporation in products liability and CSX Transportation, Inc. under the Federal Employer's Liability Act ("FELA"), 45 U.S.C. § 51 et seq. Judgment after a jury trial was for $1,000,000 in damages exclusive of medical expenses, as to which defendants were jointly liable, and $250,000 for medical expenses, for which Snap-On alone was liable.1
