Appellant entered a plea of not guilty to one count of attempted murder and aggravated assault. TEX.PENAL CODE ANN. §§ 22.02; 19.02; 15.01 (Vernon 1989).1 He was convicted of aggravated assault and the jury assessed punishment at imprisonment for 2 years and a $2,000.00 fine.
